Happy Halloween!

Create your own pumpkin here!
I’m being flooded with work right now, and the pumpkin I drew disappeared. So no pics. Too bad really, it was a really nerdy one too.
And because there’s absolutely nothing substantial about the post, so I thought I’d make it worth your while..

After Operation Bug Swatting, what an average consumer would like to see next on google reader :

Tag renaming functionality.

Sure, you can create a new tag, filter by tags, add the new tag (more actions), then remove the old tag. But that’s really a hassle innit?

Allowing the ‘add to folder’ drop-down to work with the auto-subscriber.

This currently only works when you type/paste/search a url or feed in the ‘add subscription’ box.

Add ’sort by oldest’ feature.

If I ’sort by newest’, I’ll most probably end up with some feeds I’ll never get to read!

Drag and drop in subscriptions panel.

Need I say more?

And that’s about it.
P.S. I’ll take the new interface over the old one any time!
P.S.2 To me, the most important bug swatted was the resetting of the scrollbar in the expanded view.

Edit:
Um, this is going to sound really odd/awesome, but google linked to me!

Edit 2:
Right after I praise gReader, it bugs up on me when I try to add a feed manually. *scowls*

Why I don’t deserve that ‘F’ in home economics

Rosemary? Check. Black pepper? Veggies? Check and check!

.. Shit, the wine!! And scurried down to the store, where a Shiraz Cabernet was grabbed at random, and would have been better paired with lamb. Plus, the steak ended up slightly overcooked. Oh well.

Er, I can’t believe made a meal (punctuated with random outbursts like “aggh!! i can’t turn the oven on!!” whereupon someone stares at me and calmly turns the other knob on the other side..) ! I reckon my cooking skills are below the ‘dishwasher’ level in Anthony Bourdain’s kitchen. Heh. Snapped a few quick pics with three fingers, so excuse the flash and quality..

Anyway, we had our meal, complete with odd cartoon sounds in the background and a lopsided half-coconut candle.

Now then, why don’t I deserve that ‘F’?

‘Cause I can cook, suckers!
(But then again, they didn’t allow instant mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, chicken soup, canned beans, – probably because for all of them, you just add boiling water, stir, and voilĂ ! – nor was google permitted..)

You make me sick

You, who instantly classified those men as animals. This is but a verbal showcase of religious genocide, which, taking all counts of terrorism into consideration, is currently ongoing. Even more disturbing is the fact that his views echo many other extremists around the world – I use extremists for the fact that my muslim classmates have expressed their outrage over this matter – the difference lies in the fact that he expressed his beliefs in a liberal country.

Beasts. – You asked for it.

Edit: This is awesome! Hahaha.

Version 2.0 has been released – I got the ‘bootleg’ version one day before the official release *sheepish* The first thing I did was to uninstall Spellbound; in-built checker!
And anyway, if your extensions haven’t been working, install this plug-in to disable compatibility checking. Warning: does not work with Tab Mix Plus. But that’s going to be updated soon so no worries.

Goodbye Sage, hello Google Reader

Monday, October 23, 2006, 7:39 pm lithiumed 4 comments

I’d been extremely reluctant to part with Sage, for its simplicity in finding/subscribing to feeds and that it fits nicely in my sidebar.

But. Google Reader updates automatically, then lists all updated posts in the expanded view. These days, my fingers are going u-j-j-scroll-j-j-s/shift+s (or, full screen – next – next – scroll – next – next – star post/share post)
No more checking feeds! No more clicking on feeds!

To combat Google Reader’s unfriendly feed subscribing system: install this greasemonkey script (firefox and greasemonkey extension needed), run your cursor over the top right hand corner and click! Note to Google: I miss the drag-and-drop facility a lot.

Additional: Install this script to integrate Google Reader and Gmail.

Um, sidebar integration next? Please? Scripters?

Another reason to use wordpress

” Thanks to the fantastic flexibility of WordPress, I was able to make a campaign site supporting the legalization of fertility treatments for single women and lesbians in Finland….treatments were legalized by a 22 vote margin “
- Blog Activism

And what hit me the hardest? At least 50 people saying “wow” and “thank you for sharing” as a response. So I may be a little biased. Wow!
